Mt. Lhakpa Ri expedition

Mt.Lhakpa Ri expedition is one of the most popular expedition in Tibet. Tibet Lhakpa Ri Expedition [7,045m./23,000ft.] is an attractive peak, which divides the upper East Rongbuk glacier and upper Kharta glacier. Mt. Lhakpa Ri expedition is close enough to Everest to feel the enormous power and character of the world's highest mountain, but is set far enough back to appreciate the true geometric perspective of this great peak. Tibet Lhakpa Ri climbing is just the right distance from Everest as one is allowed magnificent views and experiences of the world' s highest mountain while not being too close for comfort. Lakpa Ri stunning peak divides the upper East Rongbuk Glacier and upper Kharta Glacier. After many failed attempts Bill Tilman first ascended Lhakpa Ri during the Everest renaissance of 1936. It was later tackled in 1988 and 1991. All those who have successfully reached the peak have gone both physically and mentally prepared. Mount Lhakpa Ri expedition is not a technically challenging mountain but climbing skills & good physical fitness is required.

Mt. Lhakpa Ri Expedition  itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu, transfer to hotel , Lhakpa Ri expedition briefing with officially arrangements. overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 02: After breakfast, Leisure day in Kathamndu or relaxing or shopping with own activities and preparation for Lakpa ri expedition . overnight in Kathmandu

Day 03: Drive to Kodari - Cross border & Zhangmu

Day 04: Zhangmu - Nyalam

Day 05: Nyalam - Tingri

Day 06: Tingri - Lhakpa Ri Base Camp

Day 07: Lhakpa Ri Base Camp

Day 09: Drive to Everest Base Camp (5,200m)

Day 10: Lhakpa Ri Base Camp - Middle Camp

Day 11: Middle Camp - ABC Camp

Day 12-24 : Climbing period of Lhakpa Ri

Day 25: Base camp to Shigatse

Day 26: Shigatse - Gyantse

Day 27: Gyantse - Lhasa

Day 28: Lhasa Sightseeing

Day 29: Lhasa Sightseeing

Day 30: Lhasa to Kathmandu flight & transfer to Hotel, relaxing or shopping with own activities then in the evening farewell dinner in Nepalese restaurant. overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 31: After breakfast, Relaxing/shopping with own activities , Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition's representative will drop to Kathmandu international airport for onward journeys or if you have time to stay in Nepal will arrange any other trip such as Chitwan Junlge safari tour, Lumbini tour, Chitwan jungle safari tour , river rafting etc.

Expedition Cost Includes:

  • All land transportation by Van, Land Cruiser, Jeep, Hiace or, Mini Bus (Airport/Hotel/Airport & expedition pick up & drop).
  • Accommodation in Kathmandu for 5 nights at bed and breakfast basis.

Expedition Cost Doesn’t Include:

  • Airfare: To & from your country.
  • International airport departure tax.
  • Nepal entry & Re-entry visa fee (can be obtained at the airport upon arrival).
  • Lunch and dinner during your stay in Kathmandu.
  • Hotel after 5 night stay in Kathmandu.
  • Oxygen bottles, mask and regulator for expedition use (Poisk Oxygen System).
  • Personal insurance such as travel, accident, medical, emergency evacuation and lost luggage.
  • Applicable permit fees & customs charges, etc. for SAT phone, Walkie-Talkie communication equipment & commercial filming.
  • Porters and transportation in case of natural calamity.
  • Nepal custom duty charges for import of expedition goods.
  • Extra yaks if required.
  • Expenses of personal nature such as drinks, laundry, postage, telephone etc.
  • Tips and bonuses for staff.

Summit Bonus for climbing Sherpa must pay by Climber: Per Sherpa-USD 500 for over 8000m, USD1000 USD for up to Summit.
